Get the Advantage of Solar Power Today

Crown Exteriors & Construction is an authorized dealer for our partners at Titan Solar, which is the largest residential solar panel installer in the U.S. Installing solar panels on your home will generally eliminate your electric bill entirely while adding equity to your home.

Speak with one of our professional consultants today to hear about all the benefits of solar as well as the money-saving state and federal incentives!

Get Tax Credits Just for Going Solar!

There is a 26% federal tax credit for any new solar installation total system cost. For example, if you spend $50,000 on a new solar install, you'll receive a $13,000 credit when you do your taxes. Please note that this is a credit, not a deduction. So it is real money coming back to you!

The federal credit changes to 22% in 2023 and drops down to a projected 10% after 2023, if it's still available at all, so be sure to contact us soon to get started!

Other Incentives for Going Solar

There's a second huge incentive, which is offered by the state of Illinois when you go solar. The state has been mandated to source a certain amount of renewable energy (such as solar) in efforts to help our state go "green", so they are rewarding homeowners with money back in the form of an SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credit).

This is a check mailed directly to a homeowner sometime 6-18 months after the solar system is installed. This is calculated based on the output of the system, so once the energy provider has had 6 months or so to monitor and review the output generated by that system, they're able to determine the amount of the SREC check they send to the homeowner.

The SREC amount paid to the homeowner is generally around 20-25% of the total system cost. So once you install a solar system, you can plan on seeing a 45-55% offset of the total installation cost provided by the federal tax credit and the state's SREC program.

The SREC program is not permanent, and once the allocated funds run out, it will likely no longer be available (or will at least be reduced).

Our Financing Program

We can qualify anyone with over a 600 credit score for as low as 1.49% APR financing over a 25-year loan. The goal is to keep the monthly loan payment amount lower than the current electric cost. You will be locked in at this fixed payment amount while everyone else is subject to soaring electric costs. We call this owning your power source rather than renting it!

We can perform a soft credit pull to determine whether or not you are qualified (this does not affect your credit). Call us today to learn more!

About Titan Solar

We're authorized dealers for Titan Solar, and there is a full warranty on all products installed for 25 years. The time from contract to installation is 2-3 months. All we need from you in order to generate a full proposal and breakdown is a copy of your electric bill along with some basic information such as your name, address, phone, and email.

Titan has installed over 80,000 residential systems nationwide. Check out the heatmap to see where Titan has performed the most installations. You may be surprised to see that Illinois is one of the least installed states in the country, this is one of the main reasons the state has implemented the SREC program in order to reward Illinois residents for going green!

  • How Long Does It Take to Install the System?

This will depend on the size of the system. It can usually be done in only one day, but larger systems can take up to two days.

  • Can I Still Go Solar if I Move?

Your solar system can be relocated to your new home if you decide to move. You can also leave the panels at your home when you sell to increase the home's value when the new homeowner buys from you. Adding a solar system to your home increases the home's equity by an estimated 75% or more of the total installation cost!

  • Can I Store Excess Electricity?

Yes! Thanks to net metering. Net metering is the process of having another meter added to your home by your utility company after you have a solar system installed. Essentially, you store the extra energy produced to be used during the months when you do not produce enough energy to cover your entire bill. (Summer months, when the sun is out the most, are the highest producing months. Whereas solar panels do not produce as much energy during the winter months).  Net metering allows you to "bank" or store the extra energy you produce in the summer months to cover the extra energy needed in the winter months. Contact Crown Exteriors & Construction to see a full proposal with charts and graphs detailing your current energy usage versus what a Titan solar system would produce for you on a monthly basis.

  • Will Having Solar Affect the Value of My Home?

Going solar increases your home's value. See for yourself by clicking this link.

  • Can I Install Additional Solar Panels in the Future?

Provided there's enough room on your roof, additional solar panels can be installed for more electricity.
